What to do list:
  • Decide what purpose your fence will serve and what size and style of fence will serve your needs.
  • Check local ordinances to see if the location, height and style of fence meets local zoning requirements.
  • Obtain building permits, if required. 
  • Locate surveyor stakes on property or have it surveyed
  • Arrange for underground cable locate and marking.
  • Measure fence line and make a drawing which shows the following:
  • Corners		Ends			Gate Posts		Gates
  • Be sure to include the gate sizes and the length of each stretch.
  • Tips: Corner posts and end posts are also referred to as "Terminal Posts"
             A "Stretch" is the straight line distance between two terminal posts.
             "Line Posts" are the posts between the terminal posts on each stretch.
              Don't include the line posts on the drawing, they will be figured on the material list.

The example above requires 110 feet of fabric, 7 terminal posts, one 4 foot gate, and 9 line posts.  Line posts should be spaced a maximum of 10 feet apart.  Top rail, gate hardware, caps, ties, tension bars, and fittings will be included in the price quote. Tension wire, privacy slats or other optional items should be specified for inclusion on quote.
